What kind of equipment is provided in the kitchen cottages?

All kitchens are fully modernised with electrical appliances, including a microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. There is an iron and ironing board in each cottage.

Do I need to bring my own towels or bed linen?

No! Cotton Sheets, pillowcases, natural pillows, duvets and towels are provided. We provide a mid-week change of fresh towels. For any booking of more than one week the beds will be changed and fresh towels provided.


Do you have high-chairs and cots for children?
Yes, we have a limited number of highchairs, so please let us know if you will need one when making your booking. We do not provide cots or baby linen, so advise you bring your own travel cot.


Do you provide air beds or camp beds?
No, we can only provide the amount of beds in each cottage. You are welcome to bring your own air bed or shakedown for children 12 years old and under.

Is there a TV in our cottage?
All cottages have a flat screen digital television, DVD player, and a clock radio, with iPod dock and CD player.


Can we use the garden?
The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer quiet areas with seating.


Is there central heating?
All cottages are centrally heated and coal and logs are provided free of charge in Sheila’s cottage.


Do you allow Dogs?
Dogs are welcome in 3 of our cottages – Lanthwaite, Howe House and Barty’s but are limited to 1 dog per cottage at an additional charge of £10/night. We do ask that dogs are clean when they enter the accommodation (we can provide dog towels for wet dogs), that they bring their own bed or cage, and are fed outside and that they are NOT left in the accommodation on their own. Any damage to the property will be chargeable.


Do you have a drying room?
Yes – there is a drying room with laundry facilities.


Do you have a locked bike storage?
Yes, we are on the Coast to Coast route and can provide a locked storage area for bikes.


Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, there are two Wi-Fi hotspots in the Coach House which provide internet access for 4 of the cottages, and a third hotspot for Barty’s and Sheila’s.


Can I get mobile signal there?
It is possible to get mobile signal at the top of the yard


Do you have any books or board games?
There are board games, jigsaws and books provided in each cottage. There is a wide (huge!) selection of DVD’s and a small library of local interest books that you are welcome to borrow.
